If you thought that meeting emission targets has to mean asthmatic performance and compromised fuel economy, think again. From the Mack Truck Hagerstown facility in the USA comes the MP8 – tried, tested and tuned for local applications.
It's an Eu4 compliant, direct injected, 800 cubic inch six cylinder engine, rated up to 500Hp – it's emissions compatibility is thanks to a cooled, three stage Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system and Variable Geometry Turbo (VGT) technology.
An overhead cam, multi valve layout takes care of precise valve management and the VGT will surprise you with its smooth operation, enhanced engine braking and excellent off idle and mid range response.
The MP8 has impressive flexibility with a generous fuel efficient range that kicks in at 1200RPM, pulls smooth and strong up to 1500RPM and has an operating peak of 1950RPM.
It runs state-of-the-art Mack V-MAC® IV electronics for efficient engine management, data logging and duty cycle history and comes power take off ready. Improved cooling and oil filtering mean lower running costs with extended service intervals, and it’s quiet enough to satisfy ADR83 standards without compromising power or economy.
