“Is that a B-Double in distress?”
There’s no truck that Wagga Truck Towing can’t rescue in their Mack Trident.
Wagga Truck Towing came to the rescue of a B-double in distress recently along the Gocup Road (Gundagai to Tumut in New South Wales). Struggling along the wet steep incline and losing traction, the B-double driver called on Wagga Truck Towing to lend a hand.
Here you can see Wagga Truck Towing's 535hp Mack Trident equipped with a tow strap doing the hard yards, towing the fully-laden B-Double up and over the hill to continue its journey safely.
All in a day’s work
This is just a typical day for Wagga Truck Towing’s new Trident. Operating out of Wagga Wagga, Young, Goulburn, Griffith, Batemans Bay & Tumut, they run a fleet of six heavy-duty tow trucks and three smaller tilt-tray units, and with over 100 years of combined experience, Wagga Truck Towing have proven that they can handle all aspects of heavy vehicle towing and recovery.
Power when it’s needed
Towing a heavy vehicle is all about torque, and the 535hp Trident delivers plenty of it: up to 1,9820 lb-ft to be exact.
“The Trident really puts in when we need it, says Jimmy Cool of Wagga Truck Towing, “and it’s a great feeling putting your foot on the pedal.”
A custom truck for a specific job
As you can see from the picture, the Wagga Truck Towing Trident isn’t a standard model by any means. It’s custom body specifically designed by Mack to meet the exact specifications the customer needed.
“We went with the extended sleeper to give the driver a comfortable and roomy space with great vision,” says Jimmy, “and Mack went the extra mile designing exactly the body we needed.”
A superb engineering effort
Peter Clemson, Regional Sales Manager Mack Trucks Australia, said "Wagga Towing have used Macks for many years and the step up to buy a new one took lots of consideration. The Mack Trident was the right truck for the job but it took the right salesman to identify what was actually needed in the truck spec to do the job.
“Our engineering team built it to include a heavy 11mm chassis, multileaf front springs for stability and the right WB and rear axle ratio to make it all work. This is what Mack consistently excels at – building the right truck for the job, and this Trident if brilliant example of that."
