“Fuel economy you’d expect from a truck with half the horsepower”

John Ross of J&A Ross Earthmoving wasn’t sure about the advanced technology in the Super-Liner. Until he took one for a test-drive.

J & A Ross Earthmoving is based in NSW Central West and provides construction machinery and heavy haulage options to farmers and local government. When owner/operator John Ross needed to update the prime mover that hauls his floats, he considered several options, but Mack soon became the obvious choice.

He needed a powerful truck with GCM and excellent tare weight, and the truck John chose was a 685Hp Super-Liner with Mack m DRIVE transmission.

Mack’s advanced systems put to the test

John commented “with so much technology and new advanced systems in the Super-Liner, I had some reservations at first, but a test drive put most of them to rest and four months down the track I’ve got nothing but praise for this Super-Liner.”

Expert knowledge and support from Mack people

John also enjoyed the service he received from Mack. "When I contacted Mack Trucks about the purchase, Dan Langford really stepped up to the mark. Dan's knowledge of the truck was great: if I asked a question he always had the answer. Right from the start Dan was honest and a pleasure to deal with."

And some driver development thrown in

John also took the opportunity to meet Mack's Driver Training instructor, Craig Pareezer. A day with Craig proved to be very informative and gave John some excellent direction as to how to get the best out of his Super-Liner.

Comfort and economy in one package

"I cannot believe the level of comfort and room in the cab, compared to previous models,” says John. “The performance of the 685Hp engine with the m DRIVE 12-speed is astounding to say the least, with fuel economy that you would expect from a truck with half the horsepower.

“The Super-Liner has been an excellent choice for our business with long service intervals, excellent fuel economy and unmatched performance. It's good to see Mack still doing what they do best and that's build tough trucks with heaps of power.”
